Hotel Reservations in Ulm

Experience a rich, dynamic history and tradition outside your luxury hotel in Ulm. In the birthplace of Albert Einstein, Ulm is a fascinating blend of German history, industry and culture.

Ulm, founded around 850, was once a significant location for traders and craftsmen.  Now the city has become an economic center due to varied industries, including EADS, Nokia, Siemens AG and Intel.  The University of Ulm is regarded as one of the best research universities in Germany and the world.

Visitors should definitely not miss Ulm Minster, with the world's highest church steeple.  Construction began on this Lutheran church in 1377 and now contains many significant pieces of world-renowned art.  Wiblingen Abbey (founded in 1093) is former Benedictine abbey which now houses a library and an impressive interior in the baroque and classicism styles.  The Ulm public library - with its innovative blue pyramid design - features a public theater with drama, opera, ballet and a professional philharmonic orchestra.  Within walking distance of the library is the Rathaus (Town Hall), built in 1370, offers mid-16th century murals and an astronomical clock dating back to 1520.

Though the house (and entire district) where Albert Einstein was born was destroyed in 1944, there is a memorial at the site.

And if you run out of options in Ulm, simply cross the river Danube and explore all the options of Neu-Ulm (New Ulm), Ulm's sister city!
